is a celebration of classic Broadway musical theatre
with signature songs and dance pieces from many shows
with all of the excitement and enthusiasm of Broadway
with professional singers and dancers, innovative
choreography, and awesome performances.
Jazz dance is America’s indigenous dance art form. It
developed as both African and European peoples began to
mix their dance traditions, and through time
incorporated music such as the Charleston, swing, rock
and roll, and even the Caribbean reggae. It made its
way from the streets of New Orleans through Vaudeville,
to Broadway theatre and the concert stage.
We will take you on a jazz dance journey through some of
the dance styles that made Broadway famous and into
contemporary concert jazz dance with the influences of
music and dance choreography created by veteran jazz
dancer and choreographer, Marilyn York. Some of the
jazz dance you’ll see includes:
One

sensation, this feel good piece from a show that won
nine Tony Awards brings audiences to their feet every
